Queensland University Scholarships 2024-2025 are currently open for international students. These scholarships are offered for undergraduate and master’s studies. These scholarships are worth up to $10,000.
Scholarships are available for outstanding international students in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs in Science at UQ. UQ values diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from those who bring diversity to the university. The Faculty of Science also wishes to encourage gender balance in its admissions.

Scholarship Coverage
Queensland University offers the following scholarships:
Science International Scholarship:
- Scholarship value $3,000.
- Payment of scholarships is conditional on scholarship recipients meeting the
obligations outlined above, as applicable, at the payment date. - UQ will pay the scholarship winners after the academic census date in the first
semester of study. - UQ will pay into each recipient’s nominated Australian bank account.
UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship
- Limited to the annual income from the fund.
Eligibility Criteria for Queensland University Scholarships
To qualify for Queensland University Scholarship for International Students, candidates must fulfill all of the following requirements below:
- Required Languages: English
- Eligible Countries: All world countries
Science International Scholarship:
- Be able to be classified as an international student in Australia.
- By the scholarships closing date, submit all documentation to meet conditions associated with an offer from UQ for an approved program.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance as part of the UQ program application.
- Be enrolling in a program administered by the UQ Faculty of Science; the program must be of more than one year’s duration (full time).
- Be enrolling in their first semester of study at UQ.
- If you are already enrolled at UQ and seek a program change, you are not eligible for
these scholarships. - Students enrolling in non-award, Study Abroad, or Exchange programs are ineligible.
- Each scholarship winner must:
• Commence study in the semester indicated in the UQ offer letter.
• Make the best possible attempt to successfully complete the program of study.
• Permit UQ to publish their name and photo, and degree program name, and identify
them as a scholarship winner.
• Provide a testimonial and suitable photo for publication.
UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship
- You’re eligible if you:
- achieved a minimum ATAR of 99.90 (or equivalent)
- completed Year 12 in 2023 or 2022 (if you’re on a gap year).
And either of the below:
- Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder; or
- Australian Permanent Resident, New Zealand Citizen, or international student who is completing or has completed Years 11 and 12 in Australia.
And you:
- have not completed any previous tertiary study other than as part of your Year 11–12 studies (e.g. Enhanced Studies Program)
- have applied for a tertiary place through QTAC and have UQ listed as your 1st QTAC preference as at 18 December 2023
- are intending to enrol as a full-time student in a UQ undergraduate program in 2024 (or 2025 if deferring your tertiary place).

Science International Scholarship:
- Lodge an official UQ undergraduate or postgraduate program directly to The University of Queensland from here
- Receive a UQ Student ID Number and an offer.
- Complete the Science International Scholarship online application form here
- Submit your Application by 5 pm (AEST) on the scholarship closing date.
UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship
- You’ll need:
- your QTAC Application number
- evidence of your most outstanding achievements from Years 11 and 12 in the areas of leadership and community service.
